abstract

the present experiment was carried out to determine the effects of  antibiotic  growth promoters, blend of medicinal plants, prebiotic and organic acid on performance and nutrients apparent digestibility in a six week period, using one hundred ninety two one- day- old broiler chicks (cobb 500) on a randomized complete block design experiment with six treatments consisting of 4 replications and 8 chicks per pen in cage condition. experiment treatments were included: 1- control (without growth promoters) 2- antibiotic (15 ppm virginiamycin ) 3- blend of medicinal plants (450 ppm digestarom) 4- prebiotic (0.1 % immunowall)  5- organic acid (0.2% blend of organic acid salts)  6- mixture treatment 4 and 5. body weight gain and feed conversion ratio were not affected by dietary treatments (p>0.05).however feed intake significantly were affected experimental groups. no significant differences in nutrients apparent digestibility compared with control were observed in starter and grower periods.

effects of medicinal plant, prebiotic, probiotic and antibiotic on intestinal morphology and nutrient digestibility of broilers chickens

this study was carried out to investigate the effects of medicinal plants, prebiotic and probiotic as alternatives to antibiotics on the growth performance, intestinal morphology and ileal digestibility of nutrients in broilers. a total of 288 one- day-old broiler chicks (cobb 500) were randomly assigned to 6 treatments and 4 replicates with 12 chicks per each replicate in a completely randomiz...

Effect of Antibiotic, Probiotic and Prebiotic in Diets Containing Barley on Performance, Digestibility, Intestinal Morphology, Blood Parameters and Immunological Response in Broilers

This experiment was conducted to determine the effects of replacing corn by 20% barley supplementedwith probiotic, prebiotic and antibiotic on performance, immune response, intestinal morphology, carcass development and nutrient digestibility of broilers. Four hundred Ross 308 one day-old broiler chicks were assigned randomly to 5 dietary treatments and were tested for 42 days in a com...

Dietary putrescine effects on performance parameters, nutrient digestibility, intestinal morphology and tissue polyamine content of broilers fed low protein diet

This study was carried out to investigate the effects of dietary putrescine (PUT) on broiler’s response fed low crude protein (CP) diets. A total of 192 male day old chicks were fed with four dietary treatments including two levels of PUT (0 and 0.03%) and two levels of CP (normal and low) with factorial combinations. Weekly growth performance, nutrient digestibility and intestinal morphology (...

Effects of Canola Bioactive Peptides on Performance, Digestive Enzyme Activities, Nutrient Digestibility, Intestinal Morphology and Gut Microflora in Broiler Chickens

The aim of the present study was to evaluate the effects of canola bioactive peptides (CBP) produced by enzymatic hydrolysis of canola meal on performance, digestive enzyme activity, nutrient digestibility, gut microflora and intestinal morphology of broiler chickens. A total of 250 one-day-old Ross 308 male broiler chicks were randomly allocated to 5 dietary treatments with 5 replicates of 10 ...

The Effects of Comparison of Herbal Extracts, Antibiotic, Probiotic and Organic Acid on Serum Lipids, Immune Response, GIT Microbial Population, Intestinal Morphology and Performance of Broilers

Background: With the removal of antibiotic as growth promoters from poultry diets, it is of interest to investigate potential alternatives to maintain good growth performance and good intestinal microbial populations in these birds. Numerous additives such as Probiotics, prebiotics, organic acids, enzymes and herbal extracts used extensively in poultry feed. Objective: The study was conducted...

Effects of Electron-Beam Irradiation of the Diet on Microbial Population, Intestinal Morphology, Ileal Digestibility and Performance of Broilers

A total of 300 one-day old male broilers (Cobb 500) were randomly divided into four treatment groups. The groups comprised of 15 birds each, and were defined by diet and the birds in each group were fed 0 (control), 3, 5, or 7 kGy electron-beam irradiated diets. A total of 5 replicates were performed. The chemical composition of the diet was not affected by irradiation.Irradiation doses of 5 an...
